At a seminar on 8 April, the institute gave an insight into some of the many, exciting research projects its researchers are working on and some of the innovative ideas for new ingredients, which the institute had developed. The seminar also gave examples of the institute’s endeavours to extract protein and oil from new biomasses.

The European Masterbatch Summit 2019 brought together senior executives and experts from masterbatch and compound companies, chemical distributors, leading senior providers.

Dafia project was invited to the BIC Matchmaking Event 2019. 

BIC is a non-profit organization established in Brussels in 2013. BIC represents the private sector in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the European Commission, also known as the Biological Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU). Our DAFIA project was exhibited in the workshop: Opportunities for bio-based industries - NEW FEEDSTOCK DRIVEN (Bio-waste).

This session aims to address different perspectives about industrial biotechnology and circular economy trends. In a growing population context, a fair food supply, mitigation of climate change effects and dependency of fossil fuels must be tackled to ensure sustainability. Industrial biotechnology and circular economy have the potential to provide solutions for the main environmental, societal and economical challenges. For this purpose, science, research and innovation are key factors to set up the path towards a more efficient use of resources.

AIMPLAS, exhibitor located at number B276 at Hispack 2018, exhibits in this event some of its projects and success stories in circular economy applied to the packaging sector. One of them is DAFIA.

AIMPLAS participated at CONAMA Local Valencia on 27th-29th November in Valencia (Spain), where a DAFIA poster was exhibited.
